The Western Sky Aviation Warbird Museum
The city of St. George, located in southwestern Utah, is a historic city with roots in the days of the American pioneers. It is surrounded by many natural attractions, including Snow Canyon State Park and the famously beautiful Zion National Park. In the city, visitors will find a charming downtown area full of history, museums, art, and culture, as well as some delicious food and excellent shopping. One of the notable museums is the Western Sky Aviation Warbird Museum.
The Western Sky Aviation Warbird Museum is an aircraft museum located in a large hangar. It is an independently operated, nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, restoring and displaying aircraft for the educational benefit of current and future generations. The museum is committed to the education of aviation. Learning about Warbird history and heritage ensures that the sacrifices and contributions of all those who flew these historic aircrafts will not be forgotten.
The museum is home to a number of mid-20th century aircrafts which have seen service in the Korean War, World War II, the British Royal Air Force, and as training jets for the military. Each aircraft on display is associated with an educational exhibit about the specific features on that plane, the time period it was used, and more.
Admission to the Western Sky Aviation Warbird Museum is free, but there is a suggested donation of $2 per guest, or $5 for a family.
